As I enter into ma 30’s and after having 2 children my skin has begun to change it’s over all demeanor. Because of that change my skin has begun to change it’s love language. So it’s forced me to transition and change the way I care for my skin. As a teen I had oily somewhat acne prone skin. I didn’t love my skin at the time but looking back at pictures my skin had a beautiful glow about it. Isn’t it crazy that we all too often don’t realize or see our own beauty? During and after my first pregnancy my skin became more on the dry side and began to become less acne prone. Also too it started to become more dull in nature. What happened to my glow?! Hormones people! Hormones have a large to do with the state of our skin. The good news is that with the proper diet and proper care we can still have great skin no matter what age and stage of life we’re in. Also a very vital and important way to ensure that we keep looking beautiful is to look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re beautiful. Seriously! The mind is a very powerful instrument of change. If you start daily focussing on the beautiful aspects of your face and body, your body will begin to believe what you say and follow suit. Try it! Look in the mirror and focus on your beautiful eyes that get t0 see and experience so much life. Tell yourself with all your heart “I love you”, “you are beautiful”. It can be a part of your daily inner and outer beauty regime. In addition to your “I Love Me” practice, drinking lot’s of water, eating healthful colorful foods, exfoliating your skin and adorning your skin with weekly at home spa like beauty treatments [like the one below} can have you glowing in no time. I’ve started doing this mask weekly and have noticed an improvement to the glow of my skin. I sometimes doable the recipe and store it in my fridge. Doubling the recipe will get you 4 or 5 uses.
// Glowing Turmeric Lavender Face Mask//
1 tsp full fat {canned} coconut milk
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp honey
1 tsp coconut oil
1 drop lavender essential oil {I like to use the therapeutic grade essential oils like Young Living Essential Oil}
// How Do //
Melt the coconut oil. {Please see my *starred* note below on the best way to melt your coconut oil}. Once melted mix in and stir all your other ingredients until combined. Your mask is ready to apply!
**Please Note :: I like to avoid using the microwave to melt the coconut oil. The reason being is that the microwave uses radiation for heating. This radiation tends to kill most of if not all of the nutrients in foods and thereby rendering them lifeless of the vital nutrients. The wonderful thing about coconut oil is that it’s chock full of amazing internal and external living health benefits. Basically keeping those nutrients in tact is important. What I like to do is heat up a small amount of water in a bowl. You can use the microwave for this. I usually heat the water for about a minute then place your coconut oil in a ramequin and place the ramequin in the bowl of warm water. Please see the image as shown above. Then stir until melted.**
Oh how you glow! Keep shinning beautiful one!
Love & Light
